Seven Step Decision Making Process

Buying a franchise is a serious decision.  My advice is to adhere to the process outlined below.  Put emotion in it's proper place and work patiently toward finding a business that makes sense for you and your family.

The Process:
1. Contact Us
Surfers are always welcome but if you are seriously considering franchise ownership hit CONTACT US to the left of this screen and enter your contact information or call 678 488 8156.

2. First phone interview
We will discuss your business goals, your interests, your desired investment levels, and learn about you and your family. The information exchanged will be used to populate your confidential questionnaire. This interview will help us determine if owning a franchise makes sense for you and which franchises are the best fit.

3. Franchise search
After review of your questionnaire, we access our database of franchises, sort out those that do not meet your parameters, search for territory availability information, and compile the short list of possible opportunities.  Be prepared because sometimes it is just not meant to be.

4. Consultation
We present the list to you, complete with financial requirements, highlights of the business system, and insight. Next it is time to arrange an introduction with the representative of the franchise. Remember, you are never obligated to buy a franchise. At Franchise Advocate, we understand the process can sometimes take time. The goal is to provide you and your family valuable information that will help you make a solid decision.

5. Contact with the Franchisor
After we have introduced you to the franchisor, the franchise representative will provide more detailed, closely guarded franchise information. They will send you their FDD, (Franchise/Federal Disclosure Document). The disclosure document, if viewed appropriately, can make or break a decision.  You are under no obligation for having received the FDD. A list of all franchisee's complete with contact information is provided in the FDD. We recommend you talk to a healthy sampling of franchisees. This will prove invaluable to you when formulating the right business decision.

6. Discovery Day
Many but not all franchisors sponsor a Discovery Day. It is a full day of presentation learning about the franchise and a time for mutual evaluation.  Just as you will evaluate your potential future partners, they will be evaluating you.  Franchise Advocate has never sent a person to a discovery day and had that client rejected.  It is our job to get that part right and spare all parties wasted time.

7. Decision Time
You have now completed the process and it is decision time.
